| GP CHALLENGE SEMI FINAL 1 |
| Dennis Groves caused a minor upset in this meeting by racing to 13 points, victory in the Semi and sealing one of the 4 places on offer in this season's GP Challenge. Joining him on the rostrum, and in the Challenge Final, were two of the pre-meeting favourites with Rudi Juritzen and David Bedford making steady progess and looking comfortable. Old stager Ryan Irwin also cruised through with 12 points and the quarter were a good distance ahead of the field by the end. |
| Polish duo Aranowski and Ulabek impressed, as did young American Hagen, but this level proved just a little beyond them on this occasion and they never got near enough to worry the leaders. Many expected better from Struthers but his failure to win a heat cost him dearly as he scored just 8 points. Before the meeting many had been predicting a big challenge from Blomqvist too but he started slowly and finished with an engine failure to end well down the field in 11th. |
