BRITISH GRAND PRIX

LIAM TREADWELL (TUNSTALL TERRIORS) continued to defy expectations in the GP series after he won this round, totalling 13 points, and extending his lead at the top of the leaderboard to 11 points with 2 rounds remaining.  FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS) followed him home in the Grand Final to move up a place into the all important top 8 spots overall.  STEEN ERIKSEN (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) was third in this round and he also moves up, although remains 7 points outside the top 8.  The Grand Final was completed by HANS E BERGESTOL (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) who cemented his top 8 place overall with an impressive 17 points, the top score in the round.

Defending champion LIAM REAY (TILBURY DOCKERS) suffered a fall in his third ride and then surprisingly didn't reach the final but his 11 point total ensure he is still in the running for the title, 11 points adrift of the leader with 2 rounds to race.  HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) was another rider to suffer misfortune, having a time exlcusion and a retirement before making his way to 9 points but he is still looking very likely to finish in the top 8 and guarantee his palce in the series next season.  GABRYS IRZYK (NEWMARKET RAIDERS) looked set to make up ground on the two leaders but suffered a heartbreaking engine failure in the Semi Final to mean he could make up just one point on Reay in second place.  The last Semi Finalist was HENRIK HANSEN (TUNSTALL TERRIORS) who remains adrift of the top 8 overall despite his solid display here.

DAVID BEDFORD (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) got a chance to take 3 rides from reserve and impressed as he picked up 7 points.  BRAXTON MCCHESNEY (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) and BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) also scored 7, the former 8 points outside the top 8 now with the Polish rider moving up to joint 4th.  NIKITA FEDERENKO (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS) picked up 5 points but he slips outside the top 8 overall and will need to improve in the final 2 rounds to avoid the GP Challenge.  CARSTEN OSTENSTAD (CHARLEMONT CHARGERS) was another to impress from a couple of reserve outings, winning a race and scoring 4 points.  OLLE BJORN THORESEN (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) matched his 4 point total, but now looks destined for the GP Challenge, as did wild card JAKUB FEKETE (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS).  It was a terrible round for NICK AMBROSE (RYE RACERS) who scored just 3 and, although his top 8 place looks assured, he won't want many more slip ups and a top 3 place looks a big ask with a 15 point gap to make up.  MACIEJ TERCJAK (ZAGREB ZEBRAS) could only score a point and CHRIS ADAMS (BRATISLAVA BUZZARDS) had failed to score before he took a knock and withdrew, leaving the pair well outside the top 8 overall.
