EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX
 
NICK AMBROSE (RYE RACERS) was the deserving winner of this year's European Grand Prix with a performance that made him stand out from the field.  As a result he moves up the overall standings to 4th, just 6 points from the rostrum places with 3 rounds remaining.  LUKE TREADWELL (TUNSTALL TERRIORS) also had an excellent day, to continue defying those who keep expecting his form to drop, and his 14 point total extends his lead at the top of the title chase to 9 points.  BRAXTON MCCHESNEY (KING'S LYNN LIGHTING) and STEEN ERIKSEN (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) both surprised many in the crowd by reach the Grand Final also and they have both improved their chances of chasing down a place in the top 8 and automatic qualification for next season's series.
 
BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) and HANS E BERGESTOL (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) both consolidated their places in the top 8 with good returns that took them all the way to the Semis.  GABRYS IRZYK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) had a mixed meeting with some great rides matched by 3 last places although he does still close the gap to 2nd overall by a point.  The final rider to reach the Semis was NIKITA FEDERENKO (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS) who scored 8 points and he maintains his grip on a top 8 spot as a result.
 
Defending champion LIAM REAY (TILBURY DOCKERS) didn't have the best of meetings and missed out on a Semi Final place, after a slow start where he was pointless after 2 heats.  He did improve to record 7 points and he stays in 2nd place on the overall leaderboard, well within striking distance of the leader.  MACIEJ TERCJAK (ZAGREB ZEBRAS), FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS) and OLLE BJORN THORESEN (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) also picked up 7 points each and CHRIS ADAMS (BRATISLAVA BUZZARDS) managed 6, meaning their overall standings stay fairly unchanged.  HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) had a disappointing meeting, his 5 points seeing him slip 2 places down the rankings, although he still looks well placed for a top 8 spot at the very least.  HENRIK HANSEN (TUNSTALL TERRIORS) picked up 4 points, as he had in the previous round, and he has now slid to 14th overall and needs some imporved results quickly if he wants to avoid the GP Challenge meeting.  Wild Card for this one was BORIS DVOYNEV (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS) and he found the going tough but every meeting at this level is good experience and he can surely take something positive from it as he prepares to compete in the GP Challenge Semis.
